Rams Hill is a premiere course designed by the legendary golf course architect Tom Fazio.

With five sets of tees, and a maximum yardage of over 7,200 yards, the Rams Hill course presents a fun challenge to every level of golfer. A unique feature for this desert course is the incredible height variation from tee boxes to greens. The quiet mountain vistas,  streams, ponds, lakes, and waterfalls make this course an unforgettable golfing experience.

Hole #2

This par 5 provides ample room for cranking up your drive. A successful tee shot makes the green reachable in two. However, a large centered fairway bunker forces you to thread your approach shot to the two tiered green. Failure to execute can leave you working out of a difficult green-side bunker.

Hole #5

The 5th hole is a challenging, par 3 of 206 yards from the black tees. It’s protected by a lake on the left and enhanced by a breathtaking, steep mountain backdrop that hovers over the green. The late afternoon shadows highlight the menacing mountain cliffs and make this one of the most beautiful holes on the course. Only the most courageous golfer will go for the left pin placement protected by deep bunkers that fall away to a tranquil, yet threatening lake.

Hole #6

A short par 5 that represents a meaningful eagle or birdie opportunity to energize your round. Staying left of (or sailing over) the right bunker complex is critical off the tee. A well placed tee shot positions you to go for the green in two. However, hitting the green in two is only advisable if you can land on the pin side of the two tiered green. Failure to do so can often lead to an unfortunate three-putt.

Hole #10

A tough, down-hill Par 3 with water bordering the entire left side. The two-level green is protected by two bunker complexes and the water. When the pin is tucked to the back left, be prepared for the risk/reward shot. When the pin is up right… all systems GO!

Hole #14

With a slight dogleg right and downhill, the green is not visible from the tee box. Hit a long drive in the correct slot and you can be rolling down to the front apron. However, if you get greedy and try and cut the right corner, you can find yourself in a series of fairway bunkers. The two-tiered green accentuates the importance of your second shot, if you are looking for that birdie.

Hole #17

A classic, short par four, the 17th at 331 yards is for some drivable, although the multitude of bunkers make cautious players choose a more prudent path. As pictured on the Rams Hill scorecard, this gorgeous hole is bunkered on both sides, but does have a sizable fairway on the right for those wishing to play it safe. Like most of the holes, the view of the mountains behind the green makes the second shot special. This mountain backdrop is especially breathtaking in the late afternoon when the mountain’s crevices and cliffs are highlighted by the setting sun. The long, narrow, and two-level green puts a premium on putting.

Hole #18

This par five hole at 577 yards features a downhill tee shot to a wide fairway that slopes to a large lake on the right. The green is protected by bunkers and a waterfall that cascades into the lake. There’s a slightly uphill third shot to a well designed green. This is a classic Fazio finishing hole on a breathtaking Fazio golf course. Its beauty is only exceeded by its tranquility and serenity. There is no whining highway noise or a cacophony of sirens, only silence, occasionally punctuated by a coyote’s howl, or a red tail hawk’s distinctive screech. This is not a contrived course. It is blessed with great terrain which enabled Fazio to create an unsurpassed masterpiece in the middle of the immense Anza Borrego State Park.
